In our approach to doing business, sustainability translates into concrete and responsible choices that concern our production process, the use of resources, and the management of materials. These choices involve different areas of our operations, from energy and water to the materials we use and the by-products generated by the production process.
OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
Amarcord beer begins with the careful selection of raw materials and a production process that integrates energy-efficiency solutions and the use of electricity from renewable sources.
+
Alongside spring water, at least 50% of the ingredients we use come from selected Italian suppliers. This choice allows us to promote and enhance Italian-sourced raw materials, while respecting recipes that may require ingredients from other regions.

SUSTAINABILITY STARTING FROM RAW MATERIALS
As producers, we bear great responsibility: we must guarantee quality, work for sustainability and ensure transparency.
ENERGY AND CARBON OFFSETTING
ELECTRICITY FROM CERTIFIED RENEWABLE SOURCES
Since 2020, we have used exclusively electricity from certified renewable sources. Part of it is generated directly by our photovoltaic system, installed on the brewery roof in 2010, while the remainder is purchased from certified suppliers.
+
In spring 2024, we completed an expansion of our photovoltaic system, bringing the total installed capacity to over 270 kWp. Today, the system covers approximately 20–30% of our annual electricity needs.
CO2 OFFSETTING
Since 2021, we have offset 100% of the CO₂ emissions associated with the use of natural gas in our production process through the purchase of certified carbon credits.
The carbon credits we purchase help finance reforestation projects and renewable energy production.

RESOURCE RECOVERY AND REUSE
WATER
Water used in the production process and returned to the environment.
+
Choosing to locate our brewery close to natural springs, together with investments in water recovery and reuse, has enabled us to reduce the amount of water used in our production process over time. After use, most of the water is treated and returned to the environment.
REUSE OF SPENT GRAIN
After the brewing process, the spent grain, a by-product of malted barley processing, still retains valuable nutrients and is supplied to a local livestock farm, where it is used as animal feed.
REUSE OF YEASTS
Surplus yeast produced during fermentation is supplied to a local livestock farm, where it is used as a feed supplement for livestock.
A COMMITMENT THAT EXTENDS TO THE PACKAGING
BOTTLE AND SWING-TOP CLOSURE
Our bottles are made from recycled and recyclable glass. The dark colour of the glass helps protect the beer from light, preserving its characteristics.
+
The swing-top closure is also designed to be reused: it allows the bottle to be resealed after opening, helping to preserve its contents.
CARDBOARD PACKAGING
For our products, we use cardboard packaging sourced from FSC®-certified supply chains, where applicable to the specific supply.
FSC® certification covers the chain of custody of the material, making it possible to trace the origin of forest-based products throughout the supply chain. The certification available for our packaging includes corrugated board and FSC Mix and FSC Recycled cardboard packaging.
